Suzanne Egeran has 20 years of experience working in world-renowned art museums and galleries. She has held senior sales positions at prestigious galleries in London, New York and Berlin—including White Cube, Lehmann Maupin and Max Hetzler. Prior to entering the commercial art world, she worked in the Development Departments of New York’s New Museum and The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).
Egeran launched Egeran Art Advisory in London in 2009. Specializing in important contemporary artworks by up-and-coming and established aritsts, Egeran also curates nomadic projects aimed at bringing new ideas to emerging art communities. Past projects include IN THE BETWEEN (2009), an official parallel event to the 2009 Istanbul Biennial; COSMIC LATTE (2010), an exhibition drawing on work from the Istanbul-based Borusan Collection; and ISIL EGRIKAVUK: REVERSE CORNER (2013).
From 2011 to 2013 Egeran was based in Istanbul where she founded and directed Egeran Galeri with the intention of fostering a dialogue between the Turkish and international art communities.
Egeran received a B.A. from Barnard College, Columbia University (1994), and did her postgraduate studies in Modern and Islamic Arts at the highly regarded Institute of Fine Arts, NYU.
